I’ve got to tell you.

I had big plans for you today. I opened my calendar and had penciled in this really awesome painting tip to share with you.

But today, it can wait. I’m being a mom.

You see, as a mom, you have to make a choice to slow down and enjoy your kids.

Sure it shouldn’t be that hard of a choice, but it is sometimes. Because we often feel like we wear many hats. Sometimes I struggle with this, too. I often turn into the task master that wants to check as many things off of the list as I can.

But then a hear a little voice that says “Mom, you want to play Barbies with me?”

And she says it with such excitement and hope. I choose to say YES.

Yes to playing Barbies. Again. Because that’s the most important thing right now.

The laundry might argue that it is the most important. But it’s not.

The kids don’t have school today, so we are just laying low. We’ve slept in, will wear PJs past lunchtime, practiced piano, played Barbies, painted nails, and now we are watching Frozen. Again.

Millie turned all of the LED candles on while we were working on piano and then said “Mom! You like my Halloween?!”

So I just wanted to hop on here to tell all of you other moms that are in the same season as me to just embrace the chaos.

Sure you may feel like the ringmaster of a circus many days, but let’s try to just be enjoy each circus act.

Don’t compare yourself to others.

Be the best YOU that you can be!

It’s OK if you don’t get it all done. It can wait. Today, be mom.

YOU are ENOUGH!

YOU are AWESOME! πŸ™‚

Give yourself grace, take a break from the hustle, and go love your family!

P.S. I know we still have to do the tasks, but making the choice to let some of it wait can be the best thing you can do. Love your kiddos through the intentional time and memories that you can create together. Or include them with some of those tasks. You’d be surprised how much fun matching socks and folding towels can be when you do it TOGETHER. πŸ™‚
